Meet the Characters
Tanalisa Maria Ray (Tana for short)
Tana is the fashionable and fun daughter of Dr. Rebecca Ray, the local dentist. Her father died while serving as a Colonel in the Air Force. Tana loves to dress up and accessorize her scarves. She has lots of dreams. Her best friend is Darla, and she can’t wait to meet you too!
Darla Ann Dempsey
Mrs. Ray takes Tana, Darla, Danny, and Danny’s big sister, Lisa, to visit the local shelter over the holidays. They all pitch in and help serve meals to those less fortunate. Looking as simple as one normal day, the smiles now mean so much more.
California Christina Blake (Calli for short)
Calli is the daughter of a doctor and lives just around the corner from Tana and Darla. She was born in California. That is how she got her name. She wants to go back to California when she grows up and become a famous model. She is one of Tana’s good friends and wants to be one. When you see Calli around the neighborhood, you will see Lulu not far behind.
Louise Ying (Lulu for short)
​Lulu, named after her grandmother Louise, is the shy one in the group. But when she is with Tana, you never know what will happen next. Calli is her best friend and she follows her everywhere. Read future adventures as she learns lessons on how to be nice and follow the right example.
Dr. Rebecca Lynn Ray
Tana’s mother, Rebecca, is a great dentist and a wonderful Mom. She moved Tana to a new neighborhood after the death of her husband, a Colonel in the Air Force. They will face lots of challenges and adventures, but know they always have each other and that will get them through anything. She loves to bake with the neighborhood kids and has the home where all the kids love to play.
Daniel Robert Dempsey (Danny for short)
Danny Dempsey is Darla’s older brother. He is a couple of years older, and is very fond of Tana. He doesn’t always understand why she likes to play with Darla, since he is still learning on how to cope with a sister having Down syndrome. Tana shows him how to be more accepting of others as they share adventures and become good friends.
Benjamin Walters (Benny for short)
Benny is one of Danny’s friends who always seems to be the trouble maker in the group. You will see more of him in future stories with Danny, Levi, and their friend T.J. Hopefully Danny will have a good influence on him, before he gets in any real trouble!
Levi Sanderson
Levi is Danny’s best friend, and is more like Danny than most of the other boys. He loves to skateboard and is one of the more popular kids in school. He is a great baseball player and hopes to play for the Yankees some day. You never know!
T.J. Williams (short for Thomas John)
T.J. is another friend of Danny’s who loves to work on motorcycles with his Dad. He learned to ride quad motorcycles when he was very young and recently started competing. He came in second in his very first race! He is very talented and all the kids love to cheer him on while he races.
